Huawei Egypt enhances occupational safety measures
Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, inaugurated a series of events supported by both the Ministry of Man Power and Ministry of Communication and Information Technology under the title of “Huawei Safety Month” in an effort to elevate the Operational Health and Safety for all those working in telecom industry.
This comes as part of Huawie’s sponsorship to the 4th Telecom annual Safety forum which takes place from June 25th till July 26th. Huawei to provide free of charge EHS training, NIOSH Accreditation, as well as link to Huawei’s approved PPE’s, safety solution suppliers and medical checkup. All the activities were held in Huawei premises in smart village.
“The event targets the elevation the Occupational Health & Safety awareness of concerned parties and social partnership of all professionals working in the telecom industry and other supporting industries. We were delighted to partner with NIOSH-Egypt which is considered the most acclaimed authority in health and safety for this event.” said Yang Tao – Huawei Country Manager.
Dr. Nabil Mohamed Amen, President of National Institute of Occupation Safety & Health commented: “We are pleased to be a part of Huawei Safety Month, as health and safety are an essential ingredient of the corporate culture in Egypt. This would be the perfect platform to call on companies across the telecom industry to take action as Huawei did and ensure that their staff are both trained and qualified to face any occupational hazard.”
On the sidelines of safety forum Huawei and NIOSH Egypt to sign Minutes of Understanding as framework of future cooperation aiming enhancement and Develop Telecom industry Occupational Health and Safety Performance.

While Mr. Han Bin, Minister Counselor, Economic and Commercial Counselor’s Office of the Chinese Embassy in Egypt stated that health and safety should be integral pillars to any company and China Embassy is always concerned with the safety of Egyptians working in Chinese companies. Thanks to Huawei for their great attention in following the global standard of health and safety measurements, and we look forward to other companies to follow same route”.
The event which lasted for two days was attended by more than 300 employees from more than 40 companies which Huawei deals with on regular basis.
