Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has announced that its ‘Hadhreen’ initiative has been short-listed for the global award in the ‘Environment’ category at the International World Summit on Information Society 2014 (WSIS) competitions.
Hadhreen was launched by DEWA early last year to strengthen the quality of services it provides to its partners and customers at the highest levels of availability, reliability, efficiency and sustainability, and to promote best environmental practices.
DEWA urged all its employees and the community to vote for the ‘Hadhreen’ initiative, with online voting is open to everyone around the world until 18 April.
“DEWA works to realise the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to always rank the UAE at the top across all sectors. Led by our vision to become a sustainable world-class utility, we continually build and launch innovative initiatives that contribute to upgrading our services and strengthen our leadership position on the national, regional and global level,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.
The WSIS nominated 10 projects and initiatives from the UAE in various categories. People can vote for the initiative of the DEWA’s ‘Hadhreen’ initiative by visiting www.dewa.gov.ae
