DEWA’s MD & CEO meets with Mayor of London accompanied by high-level delegation

Also the meeting was attended by Mr. Nejib Zafraani , Secretary General of Dubai’s Supreme Council of Energy, and Mr. Waleed Salman , Acting Vice President – Strategy and Business Development, as well as a number of DEWA’s EVP’s and other top officials.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer MD & CEO of DEWA welcomed the UK delegation stressing the importance of such meetings in exchanging knowledge and expertise in all fields. HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, in his capacity as the Vice Chairman of Dubai’s Supreme Council of Energy, outlined the general framework of SCE’ strategy, which is focused upon securing uninterrupted supply of energy as well as the most important initiatives taken by the Council so as to keep pace with the growing demand for energy, provide its sources and diversify it.

HE Saeed Al Tayer also pointed out the efficiency upon which DEWA is based in all its projects and operations referring to the fact that there are under-construction big projects intended to raise the efficiency of the existing stations to 400 MW.

Furthermore, HE briefed the UK delegation on the international performance indicators and high-level benchmarks where DEWA attains first places such as Generation efficiency, Power T&D losses, and customer minutes loss of electricity.

Besides, HE called upon British companies to invest in independent projects of desalinated water and electricity production. The British delegation showed great interest in.

Mr. Nejib Zafraani briefed the delegation on Dubai’s Supreme Council of Energy, as well as its responsibilities and accomplishments. Also, Mr Waleed Salman gave the delegation a brief hint on DEWA’s efforts in the field of clean energy, Independent Product Programme in Dubai, the initiative of Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence (DCCE), and applying the latest world technologies in all DEWA’s operations and projects. Furthermore, the two sides discussed ways of coordination and collaboration among all the concerned authorities in terms of financing, financial services, etc. both in Britain on one hand and at DEWA on the other hand so as to utilize the best expertise and practices from the British side.

Moreover, HE Saeed Al Tayer emphasized the importance of mutual and common collaboration between DEWA and Municipality of London in energy-related fields, working on developing it most, utilizing the best eservices from both sides. HE Saeed Al Tayer also called for British companies to participate in DEWA’s tenders which cover many fields.

On his part, the Mayor of London praised DEWA’s achievements and the world reputation it has attained due to its successful programmes and projects and its unique performance which surpassed international rates. He also extended his thanks to HE Saeed Al Tayer for giving the British delegation the opportunity to closely know about DEWA’s projects and achievements.
