“The two country operations took the award for excellence of delivery in all criteria including services, customer and employee satisfaction as well as financial performance,” said Phil Couchman, Area Director Middle East.
“Both made substantial contributions to the business results of the Middle East, which has been judged to be DHL’s best performing region for 2001.”
The UAE was also runner-up in DHL Middle East’s ‘Services Country Of The Region’ being pipped to the post by DHL Jordan.
“This is a fantastic result following a challenging year and is our second corporate award within six weeks,” said David Wild, General Manager, DHL UAE.
The ‘Country Of The Year’ award comes hard on the heels of the DHL UAE field sales team beating 130 DHL outfits throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa to take the company’s annual ‘Golden Field Sales’ award.
“This is the second time DHL UAE has taken the ‘Country Of The Year’ award – the last time was in 1999,” explained Wild. “With planned investment and continued strong customer focus, we hope to pull off a hat-trick next year.”
