World of interiors gets to Qatar with brand new ‘IQ’ Exhibition

Organised by dmg events Middle East – the company behind well-established and successful exhibitions including The Hotel Show, The Big 5, INDEX and Workspace @ INDEX – and by q.media – a Qatar-based media house – the B2B event will be the flagship event in Qatar for residential and commercial interior design, hospitality interiors and solutions, as well as fit out materials, fixtures and fittings.

Designed to serve Qatar’s burgeoning buildings, construction and interior fit-out markets, IQ will take place in Doha, Qatar, from 23-25 February 2015.

Explaining the reasons behind the launch of the new exhibition Anna Canning, Event Manager, IQ exhibition, said: “Private and government investment in Qatar’s construction projects continues to rise, fuelling the demand for interior design and contract fit-out services across all sectors of the industry. IQ will cater to the demands of all industry players and provide them with a platform to network and conduct business”.

Showcasing products, services and technologies for the design, architecture, hospitality and retail industries, as well as fixtures, fittings and materials, IQ will attract interior designers, architects and design industry professionals from both Qatar and the surrounding Gulf states.

“IQ will be a combination of four existing exhibitions that we have been successfully organising for many years in Qatar’s neighbouring countries: INDEX, The Hotel Show, Workspace @ INDEX (Formerly the Office Exhibition),” added Anna Canning.

IQ will draw interest from companies across the globe that are looking to enter the growing market in Qatar and will give them the perfect opportunity to showcase their products and solutions.

“We have a well and long-established relationship with some of the biggest and most important regional and international companies operating in the interior design and architecture industry and will be bringing them to IQ. We secured a top brand 16months before the show and have also gathered a considerable amount of interest from international and regional brands; we are expecting a sell out with over 200 companies to attend the first edition of the show,” concluded Anna Canning.

Oman’s Poly Products, one of the largest manufacturers of superior quality bedding in the region, has confirmed its attendance 16 months ahead of the exhibition; Mr Fahmy Al Hinai, Director of M/s Poly Products LLC, Oman, says: “Poly Products LLC with brand name “RAHA” & “CLOUD NINE” – a major player in the bedding & soft furnishing Industry based in Muscat – has so far furnished with its beds and accessories over 400,000 hotel rooms around the globe – Qatar included.

The IQ organisers have already started working on the exhibition’s programme, planning the events and features which will run alongside the fair. The final schedule will be revealed in due course but a Design Competition and a Conference Programme are expected to be part of it.

IQ will cover 10,000 sq. m of the state-of-the-art and environmentally-friendly Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC).
