The one-day camp was held on Friday at the Etisalat Academy in Al Qusais, Dubai. Shri. MP Singh, Consul for Labor and Welfare at the Indian Consulate graced the occasion by attending the event along with the Key Officials of AKCAF, ASTER and Malabar Gold.
Labourers were pre-selected for the medical checkup based on medical and financial requirement, and were offered free consultancy and medicines by doctors and specialists from ASTER. The labourers were provided with transport to be brought to the venue in arranged transport services by the AKCAF volunteers. The medication prescribed to the labourers at the medical camp will be provided free of cost and delivered to the patients at the door steps.
Dr. Shaji Hydrose of ASTER Medical Center, Dubai, said, “The medical camp was able to provide aid to those who really needed it. We received a number of labourers who have been suffering from illnesses for months, but were not able to afford the treatment. We hope that we have in some small measures been able to provide them relief.” Nine doctors from different specialties and Para medical staffs from ASTER offered volunteer support and service to conduct the camp.
