#30DaysofSharing, du’s Ramadan campaign, was received with incredible success throughout the Holy Month. During Ramadan, every post made using the #30DaysofSharing hashtag saw du donate Dhss10 to its annual Iftar tables initiative.

du also allocated Dhs1.57m, 5% of the monthly fees from its Emirati Plan subscriptions, to employ 36 Emirati women who cooked the meals distributed at du’s Mawaed Al Rahman Iftar tables to feed those less fortunate.

Initially, the campaign had set out to recruit 25 Emirati women; however, thanks to the generous donations, the target was exceeded. 25,783 posts on social media using #30DaysofSharing generated a staggering Dhs257,830 for du to use, on behalf of the UAE public, to recruit 36 Emirati ladies in partnership with Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation.

An impressive number of 274 volunteers devoted a remarkable 1228 hours to ensure that the Iftar meals were adequately distributed to the needy. This year, there were three locations: next to Hazza Bin Zayed mosque in Abu Dhabi, next to Nad Al Qusais mosque in Dubai, and next to Al Fisht Mosque in Sharjah.

Amongst the thousands of people to participate in #30DaysofSharing across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram were several prominent members of UAE society, including artists, media personalities, social media influencers, including Saud Al Kaabi, Roaa Saban, Aryam, Diala, Chef Bader Najeeb and Faisal Al Jassim.

Additionally, an overwhelming number of du customers subscribed to the company’s Health Tips to receive two SMS daily for just Dhs1 per day – an amount that, throughout Ramadan, was donated to feeding the less fortunate through the Mawaed Al Rahman initiative.
