Ms. Sara Baker, Community service unit head gave a presentation about the services provided by the center and its achievements in the last 10 year.
Ms. Baker emphasized the role of the center in spreading awareness and the effect of these efforts on early detection and intervention.
She also pointed the positive impact of such programs on the children and their families. After the presentation the delegates visited some of the classes, speech and communication lab, computer room, and the prevocational classrooms.
During the visit Mr. Emadi discussed the means and mechanism for future cooperation between the Libyan Ministry of Social Affairs and the center.
The center offers its expertise to set strategies and policies, guidance on how to establish a new center on a scientific basis as well as training staff on initial screening of Autism, assessment and diagnosis, setting individualized educational plans for students, family and care givers training.
The center can also help in the planning and implementing awareness campaigns, conferences and workshops.
Towards the end of the visit Mr. Emadi thanked the Ministry of Social Affairs for organizing the visit and allowing the center to participate in improving and supporting autism centers in Libya.
