With the recent launch of an early child education centre, an Emirati female participant of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry-organised Tejar Dubai, entrepreneurship development programme, succeeded in turning her business idea into a thriving enterprise.

Sheikh Abdulaziz Bin Ali Al Nuaimi, General Secretary Al Ihsan Charity Association and H.E. Hisham Al Shirawi, 2nd Vice-Chairman, Dubai Chamber, and Head of Tejar Dubai Selection Committee Panel, inaugurated the Potential Nursery, which is the first business enterprise coming within a year of the launch of Tejar Dubai programme.

On behalf of the Tejar Dubai Selection Committee Panel, H.E. Al Shirawi congratulated Randa El Hemeiri, for her hard work in turning her business idea into reality. He lauded her efforts in learning fast from the programme’s technical training and setting an example for others to follow.

‘‘This SME project will go a long way in supporting the economic boom of Dubai under Dubai Chamber’s strategic objective of creating a favourable business environment and supporting the development of business,’’ he said.

Essa Ali Al Zaabi, Senior Vice-President, Institutional Support Sector, Dubai Chamber and General Coordinator of Tejar Dubai, stated that it is a matter of pride that the first woman entrepreneur under the programme has made her mark in the business world, he said adding that 70% of the participants of the entrepreneurship development programme are female.

He further stressed that the setting up of this new business, shows that the Tejar Dubai entrepreneurship development programme launched by Dubai Chamber is headed in the right direction and will achieve its purpose of launching upcoming Emirati entrepreneurs while contributing to the success story of Dubai.

On her part, Randa El Hemeiri thanked Dubai Chamber for supporting her in her endeavour which she said wouldn’t have borne fruit without the technical assistance and guidance of the Chamber’s Tejar Dubai team.

She informed that her nursery, named Potential is a terrific new early childhood educational center which teaches in three languages including Arabic, French and English and it’s absolutely tailor-made for the completely cosmopolitan life here in the UAE. With its own curriculum, the nursery treats every child as a unique individual and focuses on children with learning difficulties.

El Hemeiri further informed that presently there are 25 students enrolled in the nursery while there are 60 registrations for the summer camp. She also has plans to franchise this program of the nursery which she says is the first programme of its kind for early child education in the region.

The Tejar Dubai initiative which was launched by Dubai Chamber last year is the first in the UAE to offer a specialised programme and platform for youth to help them establish their own small-to-medium-sized businesses.

With its commitment to the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, which emphasises that entrepreneurship is the shortest route to a bright future, the training programme aims to find and train creative and commercially-minded youth to help them turn their business ideas into a reality.
