Top Chinese business leaders visit Jafza

They sought Jafza’s support to explore business opportunities in the Middle East.

The delegation was received by Ibrahim Mohamed Al Janahi, Deputy CEO of Jafza and Chief Commercial Officer of Economic Zones World, the parent company of Jafza, Mohammed Al Muallem, SVP and Managing Director of DP World-UAE Region, and other senior Jafza and Port officials, at the Free Zone.

Ibrahim Al Janahi in his welcome note underlined the strong Jafza –China business relations, and huge opportunities for this strong bond to grow stronger.

Al Janahi said, “With more than Dhs40bn worth of China-Jafza bilateral trade China remains the Free Zone’s top trading partner. We want Jafza-China trade and business relations to keep strengthening with every passing year. The regular exchange of trade and business delegations between the two sides and Jafza’s frequent road shows and their participation in leading trade exhibitions and seminars in China aim to do just this. The visit of the China’s top business delegation is an important step forward in this direction. Having the first-hand feel of Jafza’s unique abilities as the region’s top trade and logistics hub and huge business opportunities in the region will encourage many leading Chinese multi nationals to come to Jafza to efficiently serve the regional markets.”

In his detailed presentation Al Janahi highlighted Jafza’s strategic strengths. He also spoke about growing opportunities in the Middle East’s highly affluent markets. He referred the massive investments of Middle East countries’ on infrastructure development and consequent opportunities for Chinese investors in the region.

Jafza is currently home to almost 150 Chinese companies including leading multi-nationals such as SINOPEC Group, Sinochem International, China National Petroleum Corp., CSCEC, and China Railway Engineering Middle East among others. In the last 5 years the number of Chinese companies in the Free Zone has seen more than 135% growth.

Jafza is currently home to more than 6,900 companies, including more than 120 Global Fortune enterprises. These leading multinationals have chosen Jafza for setting up their regional base.

The delegation was taken on an exhaustive tour of Jafza, as well as, Jebel Ali Port facilities.
