Saadiyat Beach Golf Club appoints new General Manager

United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, June 23 - 2010 @ 10:21

With nearly 20 years experience of golf management and a 10 year Troon Golf veteran, Manulat was formerly General Manger of the $3bn 18 hole Alpensia 700 Resort and 27 hole Robert Trent Jones Jr designed Alpensia Golf & Country Club in Korea.

Manulat has now been tasked with promoting the Arabian Gulf’s first beachfront course as one of the foremost golfing destinations in the world.

“My experience on a project of that size is something that I believe puts me in ‘familiar territory’ for this new position and the club’s role in the ambitious Saadiyat Island project being developed by the Tourism Development Investment Company (TDIC),” said Manulat.

Relishing the opportunity to contribute to the dynamic growth of Abu Dhabi as a golfing destination and to raise awareness of the game in the region, Manulat adds, “It is a privilege to be involved in this emerging industry that integrates a rich cultural heritage and embraces a commitment to delivering excellence to the local population and tourists to the region.”

“In a modest way, I truly believe that Saadiyat Beach Golf Club supports the vision of Abu Dhabi’s aspirations to become a top-tier leisure and cultural destination of distinction.”

No stranger to the region, Manulat, had previous involvement with Troon Golf to assist in the set-up and opening of The Montgomerie, Dubai’s Championship golf course designed by Ryder Cup star Colin Montgomerie.

Looking forward to continuing his relationship with the world’s premier luxury golf course management company, Manulat says, “Troon Golf’s partnership with TDIC ensures that visitors to the club will continue to experience high global standards, positioning the club as one of the golfing world’s most exciting new additions.”

Saadiyat Beach Golf Club is the flagship sports facility on Saadiyat Beach, a future magnet for high-end visitors and residents. The island will become home to a diverse range of cultural and leisure attractions including Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, as well as a host of 5 star resorts and residential properties.
