Oman’s State General Reserve Fund, the Government of Singapore Investment Corp (GIC), investment firm Temasek have agreed to invest $200m in a real estate fund run by Indian mortgage lender HDFC, Reuters has reported, citing a source with direct knowledge of the matter. The investment is in a $500m real estate private equity fund launched late last year by HDFC Property Fund, founded by Housing Development Finance Corp (HDFC), India’s biggest mortgage lender, the source said. Qatar Gas Transport Co (Nakilat) has its joint venture with Angelicoussis Shipping Group has secured $662.4m in refinancing, as the company expands its LNG fleet, Bloomberg has reported. The refinancing will help Maran Nakilat, which was set up in 2005, expand its fleet of LNG carriers to six vessels from four with their delivery expected in early 2014. Nakilat operates a fleet of 54 vessels, which are leased on long-term contracts to QatarGas and RasGas.Read more
Yahoo Inc. has decided to shut down the search engine AltaVista, which was launched in 1995 as one of the original search engines on the web, UPI has reported. Altavista will officially cease to exist July 8 and will begin redirecting visitors to the main Yahoo! site.
