Samsung Electronics Egypt recently signed a protocol of agreement with the Ministry of Education (MoE).
The protocol was signed by Mr. Seung-Ho Yun, President of Samsung Electronics Egypt and Mr. Ramadan Abdel Hameed Hassan, First Undersecretary of MoE for BaniSwief governorate, under the auspices of Mr. Magdy El Batiti, Governor of BaniSweif. The protocol will include developing and upgrading 12 IT labs in several schools in the governorate to serve 1500 students.
“We are keen to support the educational process through the technological advancements we excel in. Our initiative will offer students the chance to utilize an integrated system of knowledge”, said Seung-Ho Yun, President of Samsung Electronics Egypt.
“We are keen to continue our leading role in encouraging children of Upper Egypt to become active members of their societies, through providing them with the necessary tools and skills through which they can effectively interact with cutting-edge technology. Since we launch Hope for Children in 2011, we’ve been working closely with the relevant authorities and NGOs like Sonaa Al Haya Foundation to make a positive impact in the life of children. We are extremely proud of our continuous efforts and remarkable achievements in serving the community, and are looking forward to move further with these initiatives to offer children the level of education they deserve.”
Samsung’s initiative this year includes upgrading 12 IT labs to serve 1500 students in BaniSweif. The labs will be equipped with laptops, printers and data shows in addition to providing an intergrated infrastructure network for internet connection. Samsung also trailned more than 110 teachers to best use the new labs, as well as furnishing the labs.
Samsugn launched Hope for Children in 2011 in several governorate of Upper Egypt: Assyout, Elmenia, Sohag and Qena. In 2012, Saqmsung concentrated on Sohag governorate and in 2013/2014 the govornorate of focus is BaniSweif.
