Boeing expects more commercial aircraft orders in ME

Boeing Middle East president Jeffery Johnson told Khaleej Times, that the aircraft manufacturer is expected to deliver more commercial aircraft in the Middle East in 2014 compared to last year and its major regional customers belong to the UAE. The US plane maker delivered 45 aircraft in the region in 2013 and this year the company has delivered 24 aircraft in the first seven months of the year. Johnson declined to provide total number of aircraft to be delivered in 2014 to its Middle East customers. “We’re very pleased with our progress and are on track for deliveries in 2014. We do not disclose future delivery schedules,” Marty Bentrott, vice-president for Sales — Middle East, Russia, Central Asia, Boeing Commercial Airplanes, said. The UAE-based carriers are top buyers of Boeing aircraft. The company delivered 69 aircraft between January 2013 to July 2014 in the Middle East and out of that the UAE-based companies received 38 aircraft deliveries, according to the latest data available.
