The Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation (EHCAAN) has posted a 4.8% drop in aircraft movement so far this year, almost the same rate as the previous year, Daily News Egypt has reported. The drop is attributed to the travel bans on Egypt that had been imposed by several tourist exporting countries in mid-August 2013, said the chairman of the state-owned firm, Ashraf Zaki. The company’s airports handled 31 million passengers in 2013, marking a 6% decrease from 33 million passengers in the previous year, Zaki said. Some 29 airports are affiliated with the company, of which 10 are international and 19 domestic.
