Akbar al-Baker, the chief executive of Qatar Airways has said the new Hamad International airport in Doha is set to open in the second quarter of this year, The National has reported. “It [the opening] will be done in two phases. One where all low-cost carriers and carriers that do not have transfer passengers move. And the second phase will be for full-service airlines and airlines that have transfer passengers,” said al-Baker. “We [Qatar Airways] will be at the new airport when it is fully operational. This will be during the second quarter of this year.”
