Saudi Arabia’s Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu (RCJY), in collaboration with the defence ministry, has said it is working to complete the requirements stipulated by the Civil Aviation Authority to get the licence to reopen Jubail airport by September, Arab News has reported. Work is currently focused on the completion of the watchtowers, stands and other requirements, said chief executive of the RCJY, Mosleh Al-Otaibi. “In the initial stages, the airport will witness airline operators from the military, the RCJY, and official company delegation. We will continue to coordinate with the authorities to enable the airport to operate flights for the public,” he said. The airport will serve more than 500,000 visitors, investors, and workers coming into the city from both within and outside the kingdom.
