CBQ subsidiary Alternatifbank’s chief executive steps down

The Qatar Exchange 20 Index gained 0.19 per cent to close at 11,331.46 points on Wednesday, March 26. Islamic Holding posted the biggest increase, ending up 10 per cent (limit up) at QAR71.60. Commercial Bank of Qatar (CBQ) slipped 0.82 per cent to QAR60.50. Earlier in the day, the second biggest lender in Qatar said that Hamit Aydogan, chief executive officer and general manager of Alternatifbank (Abank), will be stepping down from his position effective March 28, 2014. Muzaffer Ozturk, executive vice president and head of business, will assume the role as interim general manager.  The bank is expecting to announce his successor shortly. In 2013, CBQ bought a 74.24 per cent stake in the Turkish lender. Turkey’s Anadolu Holding holds 25 per cent in Abank.
