: Wednesday, July 09 - 2014 @ 00:42

Egypt’s biggest bank, National Bank of Egypt (NBE) has said around 70 employees at the lender’s head office entered the second day of a strike on Monday to demand promotions and back pay, Ahram has reported. NBE criticised the strike as “coming at a time when the state is asking for more [from its citizens], as opposed to damaging state institutions and the interests of the people.” The lender has assets amounting to EGP366.6bn and represents 26.3% of Egypt’s banking sector.
