As part of its ongoing commitment to the professional development of Omani nationals in the banking industry, HSBC Bank Oman has announced the appointments of Nahla Al-Kharusi as Deputy General Manager and Head of Business Management, Commercial Banking and Masoud Al-Ghaithy as Assistant General Manager and Head of Conduct Compliance. Both roles will play an integral part in maintaining strict corporate governance and compliance while delivering the Bank’s strategic business objectives.
Al-Kharusi has been with HSBC since 2000 and has 20 years of financial services experience in the banking, finance and audit sectors. She previously held the position of Chief Risk and Administrative Officer for HSBC’s Middle East & North Africa region and has also spent time with KPMG, Commercial Bank of Oman and Oman Aviation. In her new role, Al-Kharusi will be responsible for developing and implementing the Bank’s Commercial Banking strategy, which is focused on providing financial solutions and expertise to help business customers achieve their potential. This role will also have an important focus on strengthening the Bank’s corporate change management, compliance and risk controls frameworks. The appointment of Al-Kharusi reinforces HSBC’s commitment to supporting diversity within the senior management team of HSBC Bank Oman.
Al-Ghaithy recently joined HSBC Bank Oman from alizz Islamic Bank where he was Head of AML Compliance and brings 27 years of experience in the financial sector, including seven years in the Compliance field. In this new role, Al-Ghaithy will be responsible for managing conduct in the Bank. He will play a lead role implementing compliance policy and managing the Bank’s regulatory compliance matters, in tandem with national financial compliance policy and market regulations.
