The Qatar Exchange 20 Index closed insignificantly lower at 12,954.93 points on Thursday, April 24, as shares ended mixed. Masraf Al Rayan fell by 2.21 per cent to reach QAR48.65. Earlier in the day, the Islamic bank disclosed the interim financial statement for the three-month period that ended on March 31, 2014, revealing a net profit of QAR432.3 million ($110.06m), when compared with QAR400.1m ($104m) for the corresponding period in 2013. It added in a filing to the market that it consolidated the financials of the Islamic Bank of Britain (IBB), after an acquisition of 98.34 per cent of IBB’s equity.
