In celebration of Qatar National Sports Day, Qatar Development Bank (QDB) in collaboration with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), organised a packed day of exciting activities at Aspire Zone to promote healthy lifestyles in the local community.
The QDB tent enjoyed wide participation from the public, families and their children who took part in several engaging activities, including healthy lifestyle tips and discussions with a team of nurses, information sessions on diabetes with HMC dietitians, distribution of fitness and nutrition booklets, and pedometer giveaways to encourage people to exercise and walk more frequently.
Additionally, visitors participated in a fun and challenging seven-minute circuit training workout designed for busy professionals.
On the occasion of QDB’s celebration of National Sports Day, Mr. Abdulaziz Bin Nasser Al Khalifa, QDB CEO, said: “Qatar Development Bank’s participation embodies the Emiri decree which states that every second Tuesday in February will be the National Sports Day in Qatar, aiming to promote healthy lifestyles in our communities. QDB is proud to participate for the second consecutive year in partnership with Aspire Zone and Hamad Medical Corporation, enhancing the sports culture in Qatar and helping build a society that enjoys and practices good physical and mental health habits.”
“Through our activities this year, we aim to shed light – via the seven-minute workout – on the best methods of exercising for busy professionals,” Al Khalifa added.
QDB’s participation in National Sports Day is one of many recent initiatives engaging the local community. One of the visitors who participated in the activities expressed his gratitude to QDB and HMC for the valuable information he received at QDB’s tent and mentioned that he learned fitness exercises he can do despite his busy working schedule.
