The summer rebound rally continued on Tuesday, July 15, at the Dubai stock exchange as the market index DFMGI jumped 3.36 per cent to hit 4,765.64 points
Emaar Properties added another 1.80 per cent to close at AED9.672. Since its three-month low in June-low, the developer gained 16 per cent in the wake of a general market recovery.
But today’s focus was on SHUAA Capital, adding 7.44 per cent to reach AED1.30. The oldest investment bank in the UAE said earlier in the day that it earned, in the first six months, a net profit of AED14.4 million ($3.92 million), up from a loss of AED4.6 million ($1.25 million).
Commercial Bank of Dubai, the ninth among lenders in the UAE, lost the most, ending down 5.60 per cent at AED5.90.
Trading volumes edged up significantly as 1.18 million shares were traded, valued at AED2.847 million.
