With interest in Emiratisation increasing across the board and the Government push for companies to hire more UAE National employees, The Aamal Project will be focussing its activities on helping institutions and companies to find the right candidates.
Conceptualised over a year ago by Saeed Ateeq Salem Al Khamiri, Chairman and Ahmed Al Yafei, Managing Partner, the Aamal Project has taken off the ground after extensive research. “ We clearly saw the need to approach this project with dedication and professionalism, so we looked around in the market to find a partner who had the necessary technical know-how and infrastructure to save us time” explains Al Khamiri.
The Aamal Project was founded to assist Emiratis in securing positions within the UAE market. Al Khamiri, who worked for the Government of Abu Dhabi, reported to the late Sheikh Zayed directly and held the position of Undersecretary of ADWEA sees a clear need to focus on Emirati talent throughout the UAE. Future plans include a network of offices throughout the UAE. The Aamal Project is a Joint Venture between Emirates People of Abu Dhabi and Clarendon Parker Middle East, Dubai. Clarendon Parker is a leading recruitment specialist who provides Aamal with the technical support and know-how of the recruitment world. Clarendon Parker hosts the Aamal website and shares their online database, which already holds many UAE based vacancies and hundreds of UAE National candidates.
“The concept of Aamal is based on finding candidates for jobs with our corporate clients, rather than jobs for candidates”, explains Al Yafei. Aamal considers it their responsibility to match expectations of prospective employers and of candidates. “We employ UAE Nationals as employment consultants to bridge the culture gap and make the placement process more straightforward.” elaborates Al Yafei, who has extensive experience working with international companies during his career in Emirates Global Capital Corporation and ADNOC.
Aamal Consultants visit prospective employers to get a maximum understanding of the profile required to fill the vacant position. Aamal candidates have to undergo a thorough face-to-face interview with an Aamal Consultant. They will also partake in skill testing, depending on the positions and the requirements of the client, to assess his/her skills and capabilities.
“ We would like to establish a consultancy that takes people into account, not just their CV” says Al Khamiri. “There are many strong UAE National candidates out there who are looking for professional companies with a forward thinking attitude that will allow them to develop and grow within the organisation.” adds Shirien Al Hazmi, Aamal Recruitment Specialist.
