Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) re-opened registration of new Emirati students and those alike in KGs and public schools in Abu Dhabi for the academic year 2014/2015. This comes in line with ADEC keenness to ensure providing educational opportunities to all students across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Parents must register their children in public KGs and schools for the coming School Year 2014/2015 in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi within the specified registration period. Emirati students and those alike must be registered between June 2 – 13, 2014.

H.E. Dr. Amal Al-Qubaisi, Director General of ADEC, said that: “Our main concern is to enable all students who were not able to register due to unavoidable conditions to be enrolled in schools and to facilitate the registration of students transferred from other emirates to Abu Dhabi in schools located within their residential areas. ADEC DG urged parents to abide by the specified enrolment period, to make things easy for schools in terms of meeting their enrolment capacity and needs without disruption or delay.

Mr. Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, Executive Director of School Operations at Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC), said that enrolment process will be carried out through various electronic systems launched by ADEC School Operations Sector in order to facilitate registration process and ensure accuracy of data.

“Student registration via Emirates ID was approved by ADEC and IDs have been linked to eSIS to enable schools to access and directly save ID information to the system. The new registration process allows school staff and parents to save time and efforts and minimize the need to use paper. Only documents showing student home address is needed”, he added.

Al-Dhaheri emphasized that during the current registration period, the use of Emirates IDs has helped ensure the accuracy of information fed into eSIS and consequently resulted in quick and authenticated student registration.

Students from private or public schools or technical institutions willing to transfer to ADEC schools shall reserve a seat for 2014/2015 school year online or by visiting the school.

ADEC has also announced that the child’s age for admission at KG1 shall be 4 years on December 31st of the admission year. As for KG2, the age shall be 5 years on the same date. For G1, the minimum age shall be 6 years while the maximum age shall be 8 years on December 31st of the admission year.
