Airport International Group (AIG) – the Jordanian company responsible for the rehabilitation, expansion and operation of Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) – has registered continued passenger traffic (PAX) and aircraft movements (ACM) growth for February 2014.
PAX significantly rose by 19.3% this February to reach 534,122 PAX compared to 447,594 PAX in February 2013. Year-to-date (YTD) PAX witnessed an impressive 17.3% increase, settling in at 1,082,681 PAX as opposed to 922,663 YTD PAX during the same period last year. Similarly, February 2014 ACM rose by 9% to stand at 5,406 ACM in comparison to the 4,960 ACM recorded in February 2013. YTD ACM also went up by 8.3% from 10,229 ACM in 2013 to reach 11,079 ACM in 2014.
“This steady growth trend reflects QAIA’s unwavering commitment to delivering international service standards and to operating in accordance with best practices across the board. As further testament, and despite the fact that the airport has been fully operational for less than a year, QAIA in February received two 2013 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards, ranking at 1st place in the category of ‘Best Improvement by Region: Middle East’ and at 5th place in the category of ‘Best Airport by Region: Middle East’ based on the results of the 2013 ASQ Survey, the world’s leading airport passenger satisfaction benchmark program,” commented AIG CEO Kjeld Binger.
