Surge in sales for Ajmal Perfumes during DSF 2003

The regional perfume manufacturer also witnessed a 20 per cent increase in total sales for 2002 in the UAE, while GCC sales of branded products grew by 35 per cent.

Nazir Ajmal, Chief Perfumer and Marketing Director, Ajmal Perfumes commenting on the success: “We are very pleased with our participation in this year’s DSF as it has proved to be a success. Besides the ten per cent growth in sales, mainly due to the increased number of visitors, our retail outlets throughout Dubai also saw increased activity and footfall levels which led to a 20 per cent increase in sales at our mall outlets during this year’s festival.”

“The boost in our DSF and overall sales can be attributed to our ever-growing presence and added-value promotions, which have successfully attracted a growing number of shoppers to our stores. Also, by providing an extensive range of oriental and western fragrances, as well as contemporary perfumes that combine oriental and modern notes in one, we are confident we have catered to the differing tastes of Middle East customers, who always include fragrances on their shopping lists,” continued Ajmal.

Throughout DSF, Ajmal Perfumes has enjoyed a strong presence with dedicated kiosks located in several festival activity areas including Global Village, Al Muraqqabat, Al Seef and Al Rigga. Specially-priced products, in addition to Prediction, the perfumer’s brand new unisex fragrance launched at the start of DSF, could be purchased at the various stands and all Ajmal retail outlets.

Prediction, which carries spicy and fresh notes, is derived from a modern mix of oriental ingredients, appealing to both men and women who enjoy contemporary fragrances. Since its introduction to the emirates, the fragrance has achieved promising sales and aroused many enquiries in its first month.

“Even in the early stages of its launch, Prediction is already showing encouraging results and we are confident it will be a successful fragrance. It has proved to be popular among the trendy, younger generation,” added Ajmal.
