The forum was attended by H.H Sheikh Ahmad Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, the representative of the Ruler of Ajman for Financial and Administrative Affairs.
The forum which aims to create channels of communication and support partnerships between the public and private sectors in the United Arab Emirates saw heightened participation from government officials, Consuls and businessmen across the UAE.
During the forum, the Municipality of Ajman Emirate and Republic of Turkey’s Municipality of Central Edirne have come together in order to further strengthen the basis of cooperation between the two countries at first and to bolster cooperation between the two cities in the fields of tourism, culture, social, environmental protection, trade and economy.
An agreement was signed during the event by Mr. Yahya Ibrahim Ahmed, General Director of Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, and Mrs. Nihan Akdere, Deputy Mayor of Edirne, with the presence of His Excellency Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al Muwajai, Chairman of Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and ElifComogluUlgen, Consul General Republic of Turkey in the UAE.
They were welcomed with an opening speech by His Excellency Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al Muwajai, Chairman of Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which pointed out that the forum continues to be a compass in an ever-evolving business environment – requiring room for flexibility and innovation in services and practices.
The event in turn supports the business community in the Emirate of Ajman, striving to strengthen competition, while attracting investments, tourism, retail and trade. Together these factors increase investor confidence in the emirate, along with the UAE as a whole.
He added: “The role of Ajman’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry is as a liaison between the public and private sectors, acts to open the channels of communication and the exchange of information to pave the way for successful experiences for all. The aim is to continue to attract foreign investments, and in turn allow local companies to expand into global markets.”
He also drew attention to the importance of the role of this event in the creation of a favourable investment environment to induce more partnerships between the public and private sectors.
“These in turn contribute to the progress of national development programmes, while reducing the strain on national funds.”
He concluded by saying: “We promise to continue to be the interface for the economic development of the emirate, while living up to expectations and needs. We also strive to achieve more in terms of progress and prosperity, and the creation of a fertile investment environment to attract interest and capital.”
His Excellency also added that the Chamber will start on the strategic plans set for the emirate of Ajman for the year 2012, which is expected to result in positive leads to increase the developments rates and will open new promising opportunities for companies and businessmen.
This comes following the directions of H.H Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and the Ruler of Ajman, and H.H Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, the Crown Prince of the Emirate of Ajman and the President of the Executive Council.
The strategy is set to simplify commercial licensing procedures, which was entrusted to Sheikh H.H Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Municipality and Planning Department with the result reeducates /14 / process / 6 / processes which led to save time and effort.
In his speech he praised the Ajman Free Zone authority under the chairmanship of Sheikh Ahmed bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, the representative of His Highness the Ruler of Ajman for Administrative and Financial Affairs, which resulted in increasing buildings in the free zone to meet the growing demand from investors.
He emphasized that the UAE is the second Arab country in the GDP volume rates, as it increased by 5.7% in the last two decades.The GDP increased by 9% in the period between 1990/2000, and by 6%between 2000/2010, which is a good indication to attract investments and enhance the investment environment in the country.
During Mrs. ElifComogluUlgen, Consul General of Republic of Turkey in the UAE, speech she praised the distinguished relation between the two countries; leadership, government and people. The Consul General also discussed the incentives offered by the Turkish government to investors, contributing in the growth of Turkish economy and how it became more active, stressing on the growth of the Turkish economy and considering it the fastest in the world; where the rate reached 8.6%.
Ulgen called for more economic cooperation between Republic of Turkey in the UAE, and work to double the volume of bilateral trade and economic collaboration between the two sides, confirming that the emirate of Ajman play a main role in enhancing this cooperation.
While in the speech of Mrs. Nihan Akdere, Deputy Mayor of Edirne, who heads the delegation of businessmen and investors from Turkey, emphasized on the deep historical ties between the UAE’s people and the Turkish people, and stressed on Edirne’s long history.
H.E Salem Ahmed Musabbeh Al Suwaidi, The Acting Director General of Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, praised the directions of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and the Ruler of Ajman, and His Highness Sheikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Executive Council and the Crown Prince of the Emirate of Ajman; reiterating that their guidance allowed for the overcoming of challenges and the facilitation of success for businessmen and investors.
“We move forward with more determination to provide privileges, protection and facilities for investors, together with Ajman’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry to promote the emirate as a leading destination for investment.”
Al Suwaidi emphasized on the Chamber’s role in creating a platform for communication to share successful experiences and valuable information and developments – on both a commercial and industrial level.
He expressed his happiness at the continued success of the Business Forum since its inception, as a result of all acting and attending throughout its duration.
From his side, H.E Mohammed Al Janahi, Executive Director of Business Development and Investment Sector in Ajman’s Chamber, commented that “The Emirate of Ajman have achieved much in terms of the economic, cultural and social aspects” stressing that together we continue to work to attract investment and capital to the emirate.
Al Janahiadded: “We have received tremendous response from the community, making it a success to all parties involved.”
He described the event as a valuable opportunity offered by the Chamber for the success and growth of businesses.
Al Janahi concluded that the forum continues to enhance communication and develop fruitful partnership – opening up the stage for further development and progress.
At the end of the event, H.H Sheikh Ahmad Bin Humaid Al NuaimiAnd His Excellency Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al Muwajai, Chairman of Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry honored Mrs. Nihan Akdere, Deputy Mayor of Edirne, Mrs. ElifComogluUlgen, Consul General Republic of Turkey in country and the Commercial attache at the Turkish Embassy. His Highness also honored the Chairman and board of directors of the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi received a trophy from His Excellency Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al Muwajai, Chairman of Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
