Under the MoU, Re-Solutions, part of the UAE’s Al Bawardi Enterprises (AE) technology group of companies, will provide local technical support for software and solutions developers in the Middle East and North Africa regions. This will enable ISV and solutions integrators to write software optimised for Intel architecture and to use Intel’s software development tools. In addition, Re-Solutions is co-operating with Intel to become a reseller/provider of Intel Software Development products in both regions.
According to Re-Solutions the MoU is the first of its kind to be signed by Intel with a Middle East based company.
“Intel is the world’s largest computer processor manufacturer. This partnership will give Re-Solutions access to Intel development tools and establish an extensive knowledge base of Intel architecture, allowing software developers to keep ahead of the technology curve,” said Ghassan Horani, General Manager, Re-Solutions.
“Our ability to offer this knowledge to potential, non-Intel initiated, customers will allow us to expand our business capabilities and take advantage of arising opportunities. Meanwhile, Intel will benefit from our understanding of local trends in the software development community.”
Under the MoU, Re-Solutions will support software developers, either on site or at their Amman office, in creating cutting-edge software applications for Intel architecture using Intel’s XEON or Itanium and Itanium 2 processors.
Re-Solutions’ staff have been formally trained by Intel and will now consult with, and assist, software developers on the optimum use of Intel architecture and Intel’s development tools, including Windows and Linux Compilers, VTune and Performance Libraries. Re-Solutions will also provide technical support for Intel’s non-technical system integration field sales force.
“Re-Solutions’ location in Jordan, one of the main developer centres in the Middle East, the regional reach of the parent group and Re-Solutions competence, flexibility and willingness to work with Intel, were key factors in our decision,” said Toni Prince, Business Development Manager, Intel.
“Re-Solutions can supply highly trained, Arabic speaking IT professionals, at short notice, to work with customers on site, or conduct local training, and act as an extension of our ISV enabling arm.
“Our co-operation with Re-Solutions will allow us to expand software and solution optimisation support without the need to place Intel engineers in the MENA region,” said Prince.
“The relationship between Intel and Re-Solutions is key to our strategy of bringing the benefits of Intel technology to the Arab world. Our role as one of the industry’s leaders is to enable Arabic solutions from Arabic developers.”
Re-Solutions provides software development and human assets outsourcing to companies in the Middle East. It is a highly focused technology-based business solution provider with access to many of the region’s finest IT project managers, architects, developers and business analysts as well as technologists specialising in IT majors at Jordanian universities.
The company’s state-of-the-art headquarters includes five development areas, equipped and fully networked for up to 120 IT professionals, a training room, library and reading room.
