Virgin Cosmetics, La Senza Lingerie, La Senza Girl and Tally Weijl are amongst the latest international names that are making their UAE debut when they open under the Liwa Trading umbrella at Al Ghurair City in January. These latest names in the fashion and cosmetics world join recent newcomers Bebe, Ciro Citterio, the new men’s flagship fashion house and South African body care chain Makia.
The entry of Liwa Trading into Al Ghurair City marks the latest coup for the Middle East’s longest established shopping complex and is further testimony to the success of its US$120 million refurbishment and expansion programme. Recent footfall figures showed a 28% increase in the number of shoppers that are taking advantage of the range of high street brand names that have opened their doors in Al Ghurair in the past six months, a growth that Marketing Manager Fadi Kachkouche says is only in its infancy.
“The course we are setting is centred around the young and dynamic consumer base that not only exists in Dubai, but across the Middle East region. Consumers have an abundance of choices open to them and our aim is take an increased share of this base by constantly anticipating their needs and providing new, fresh and exciting choices to the modern shopping and leisure seeker.” Fadi Kachkouche said.
Liwa Trading’s four new flagship stores undoubtedly fit into this shopping mix and leading the pack is Virgin Cosmetics. Breaking down the rigid bright hall, big counter approach to beauty shopping, Virgin offers a breath of fresh air for those who know what they want and want the freedom to make their own choices with their relaxed, fun, try-it-and-see approach. Specialty, branded lingerie at affordable prices, is the promise for both men and women at La Senza Lingerie, while La Senza Girl offers the hottest pre-teens’ and children’s clothes and accessories. Also new to the pack is Tally Weijl, the European fashion and lifestyle house that combines a fresh retro urban / rural mix of fabrics, colours, finish and accessories, based on creations from their design team in Paris.
Commenting on developments in its leisure offering, Fred Watts, General Manager, Al Ghurair City added, “As the home of the largest bookstore in the Middle East, Book Corner, leisure is also high on the agenda of the team at Al Ghurair City and 2003 promises to be another milestone year when the new 8-screen multiplex cinema and entertainment complex opens its doors in January. These new leisure offerings combined with our new Liwa Trading flagship stores is just a flavour of more to come in the year ahead at Al Ghurair City.”
