This biennial major event is sponsored by GCC Cigre and hosted by KAHRAMAA, Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation.
Alstom Grid will present and demonstrate a range of advanced technologies designed to improve network reliability and efficiency and drive the evolution of smarter, more flexible grids. Important highlights of Alstom’s offering at the exhibition are the recently developed IEC 61850-9.2 compliant bus solutions for the protection, control, measurement and supervision of transmission and distribution systems.
Other important technologies shown will be the latest in power transformer monitoring, which reduces transformer electrical losses, and the latest network management solution, Alstom’s e-terradistribution Integrated Distribution Management System (IDMS) with an integrated platform providing SCADA, Distribution Management and Outage Management, providing utilities with the capability to significantly enhance grid reliability and end-use customer satisfaction.
In addition to discovering the large range of Alstom Grid’s Technical Institute training programs, visitors will be able to experience Alstom’s T155 GIS in 3D and the applications of our long-term maintenance solutions. Last but not least, our experts will demonstrate the latest developments in 800 kV HVDC transmission and the new Voltage Source Converter technology.
Alstom will present an important keynote opening paper at the conference on Substation Automation, the brain of efficient grid management.
Michel Augonnet, Alstom Grid Senior Vice President for Business Unit Systems, said:
“Innovation is key in our industry and it is the reason why we intend – again – to present at GCC Power a selection of new solutions, to interact with our customers and visitors and discuss the answers to their specific needs.”
and Gerhard Seyrling, Alstom Grid Senior Vice President for Innovation and Strategy, concluded, “It will be a good place also to highlight the latest products and solutions recently launched by Alstom Grid, including the Voltage Source Converter, Alstom Grid’s latest development in the field of HVDC, the “RPH3” point-on-wave switching controller, the COSI “Compact Optical Sensor Intelligence” range of digital instrument transformers, e-terrasource 2.0 multi-area, CIM-based modeling solution for power systems and the e-terraplatform 2.6 highly advanced Energy Management System (EMS).”
