Armed with an inspiring slogan, “My life … Passion and Ambition,” ALWANE Kuwait stressed the importance of providing the necessary motivation for women to take the first step in bringing about change. The committee held many free intensive courses entitled, “Entrepreneurs: beginning, funding, growth…finding the right way,” at the National Library in Kuwait at the beginning of October.
ALWANE-Kuwait strongly believes in women’s empowerment, giving women entrepreneurs a chance and the right to establish small businesses. They have successfully linked their trainees with mentors, who are successful women entrepreneurs, making great strides in the business market.
Among the main topics highlighted during these sessions, were “How to develop your business,” presented by Dalal Ganai, “How to get funding,” presented by Ms. Haifa Al-Odwani, “Marketing basics and knowhow,” presented by Ms. Basma Sultan, and finally, “How to communicate and interact with the target audience,” presented by Mariam Al-Shamali.
At the end of this month, ALWANE-Kuwait is also hosting a special exhibition for women who have participated in those courses to showcase their projects and how they have benefited from the program. The exhibition will open its doors to the general public so that they can witness and get acquainted with the success stories of these new women entrepreneurs.
Ms. Jana Al-Banna, ALWANE-Kuwait Country Officer, commented saying, “The ALWANE campaign in Kuwait has strengthened the role of Kuwaiti women in the local community, and has proven that women are able to combine both their responsibilities at home and their leadership in business at the same time.”
She added “Kuwaiti women have proven that they are able to have an active and important role in their society”.
ALWANE-Kuwait has partnered with MARS VENUS Success Coaching Center; which is headed by Dalal Al-Janaie (ALWANE-Kuwait Committee member). The Center has offered its support to ALWANE’s campaign, and has collaborated with ALWANE Kuwait in its “Spread the Love Campaign” which aims to promote, the strong belief in and respect for the role of women.
