A new Arab Advisors online Media Survey of Jordan’s Internet users revealed that 47.7% of Jordanian Internet users go to movie theaters. The percentage of female Internet users who go to movie theatres reached 61.3% compared to 42.2% for their male counterparts.

Moreover, the survey revealed that 63.2% of the respondents use DVDs to watch programs. 40.1% of the respondents who buy or rent DVDs use pirated DVD copies, whereas 45.6% stated that they rent and/or buy both copied and original DVDs.

A new major online survey in Jordan was concluded by the Arab Advisors Group in February 13, 2012. The survey report, Jordan Media Survey of Internet Users 2012 was released on March 18, 2012 and provides the results of a major comprehensive online survey of the online community in Jordan. The survey covered television, radio, movie theatres, newspaper and book reading habits and effective type of ads. The report “Jordan Media Survey of Internet Users 2012” has 83 pages and 123 exhibits.

Respondents were randomly targeted by receiving an email shot in their inbox utilizing multiple reputable mailing-list operators in Jordan. The survey results encompass answers from 639 respondents that passed rigorous quality control checks. Quality control was conducted by Arab Advisors Group’s team. The survey was conducted on the general Internet population including both genders and all age groups across Jordan. The online survey yields a confidence level of 99% with a margin of error of less than 6%.

“The survey also had a specific section that probed the viewership of Pay TV channels. The survey revealed that 29.1% of the survey respondents who watch TV watch Pay TV channels. Only 57.9% of the respondents who watch Pay TV had a Pay TV Subscription with the Pay TV provider.” Ms. Dima Abu Rub, Arab Advisors Senior Research Analyst, commented.
