A new report from the Arab Advisors Group provides an analysis of the Long Term Evolution services landscape in the Arab World.
The research revealed that during the period between November 2011 and May 2014, the number of operators providing LTE services has massively increased in the Arab World.
By May 2014, Long Term Evolution (LTE), the latest standard in the mobile network technology tree, was available in eight countries in the Arab World, including all GCC countries, namely, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, in addition to Algeria and Lebanon.

The 24-page report, which has 51 detailed exhibits, provides an overview of the LTE mobile services, rates and offerings in the eight Arab countries. Moreover, the report details the plans and data included by each of the eighteen operators of the aforementioned countries, alongside additional data usage prices and validity of packages.

“The number of operators offering LTE services has substantially increased between November 2011 and May 2014” Ms. Joud Hazineh, Arab Advisors research analyst said.
“In November 2011, three operators were offering LTE services, whereas in mid 2014, eighteen operators commercially offered LTE services to their customers.” Ms. Hazineh added.
“In addition to the 18 operators providing LTE services in the Arab World, the Kurdistan region in Iraq has commercially launched LTE services.” Ms. Hiba Al-Atiyat wrote in the report.
“Moreover, Zain Jordan is expected to launch its LTE services in the country during the fourth quarter of 2014,” Ms. Al-Atiyat stated.
