The public awareness campaign, launched in August by Qatar’s first English sports weekly, is being held in association with the Qatar Olympic Committee and Qatar Anti-Doping Commission (QADC).
It is aimed at inspiring the future generation to pursue sports in its true spirit.
ASPIRE Academy Dean Dr Dieter Hackfort and Doha Stadium Plus Marketing Manager Ahmed Noushad signed the agreement last week.
ASPIRE Administration Chief Officer Ali Salem Afifa and QADC’s Training and Education Co-ordinator Dr Tarek El Nidani were present on the occasion.
Dr Hackfort expressed happiness that ASPIRE has become a part of this noble venture.
“Doha Stadium Plus has taken such a great initiative and we’re only happy to be associated with the campaign. The drive assumes significance at a time when Qatar is promoting sports in a big way. There should be more awareness among the public of the dangers of doping,” he said.
Dr Tarek said such campaigns would have the full support of the QADC in the future as well.
As part of the drive, Doha Stadium Plus will publish a 68-page Special Handbook along with its October 15, 2008, edition.
Qatari sports icon Nada Zeidan is the brand ambassador of the campaign, which will culminate with the ‘Life Be Part of It’ exhibition to be held at the Qatar International Exhibition Centre in Doha from October 15 to 18.
