Aujan Industries, once again, demonstrated its talent for youth marketing, walking away with two highly recommended awards within the Brand Development and Integrated Communications categories for its Rani brand and winning the award for Sponsorship category for their rebel brand Barbican.
Present at the awards ceremony, Tolga Sezer, Executive Vice President, Aujan Industries said, “We are extremely honoured to have been short-listed for the GEMAS, and even more so to have won a number of awards in the most competitive categories. This year’s competition featured a great deal of creative talent, signifying that Middle East is emerging in the global media and marketing arena. So it is especially gratifying for us to have been recognised.”
Sezer said the awards reflect the time and effort Aujan Industries invests in gaining insights into consumers of its brands, particularly young people. “This accolade is recognition of our ongoing vision to create powerhouse brands for the youth generation,” he said. “We work very hard to understand the needs of our target demographic, and equally hard on creating communication strategies that will connect in a vibrant and relevant way with our target consumer.”
Two of Aujan Industries’ flagship brands, Barbican and Rani, underwent re-launches in 2006, introducing new flavours and packaging, bolstered by youth-driven, multimedia communication campaigns. “Clearly, we’re doing something right,” Sezer said, referring to the GEMAS awards. “Congratulations are in order for our in-house marketing specialists, as well as our creative agency Face to Face, our planners at Initiative Media and our public relations agency Asda’a. The work they’ve done in creating our recent campaigns has been exemplary.”
Aujan has won several prestigious prizes over the last year, including three awards at the 2006 Campaign Middle East Media Awards, the FMCG Manufacturing Company of the Year award at the 2006 Arabian Business Achievement Awards and Best cold drink of the Year at the recent 2007 Retail News Middle East Awards.
