His highness, Dr. Turki bin Saud explained that KACST seeks better collaboration with the private sector for developing the modernest technology applications and providing the ideal environment for the researches and applications of information and communication technology in KSA.
The new data center is supposed to offer a premium technical environment that combines the wide applications of businesses with the applications of research centers which aims at improving the ICT sector in the kingdom.
Likewise; the center will create an excellent online environment for e-business developers and application services providers. His highness, Dr. Turki also highlighted that the city has got a lot of information and applications that may be made available through the new data center.
Speaking on the occasion, his highness Mohammed bin Khalid Al Abdullah Al Faisal, extended his thanks and appreciation to King Abdulaziz City for Science & Technology for the great support it has always given to the ICT sector in KSA.
His highness added: “AwalNet, the leading Internet Service Provider in Saudi Arabia, hopes this mutual cooperation will hugely contribute to expanding the range of information and communication services in the kingdom, as well as enhancing the quality of such services which are becoming even more crucial with the upcoming launches of e-government programs and the remarkable growth of e-commerce in KSA. Moreover; the new data center will play a big role in growing the Arabic content on the internet.”
