Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) in the Kingdom of Bahrain has succeeded in an evaluation by an assessor from the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) and has been awarded with a certificate for EFQM Commitment To Excellence.
“Any organization is only as good as the people that run it,” Said Mr. Faisal Al Jalahma, Director of Finance and Human Resources. “The success of the EFQM evaluation is a direct result of the collective effort and significant dedication of the TRA’s young Bahraini outstanding cadres,” he added.
The European Foundation for Quality Management, EFQM, was founded in October 1989 when the CEO/Presidents of 67 European companies declared their commitment to achieving EFQM mission and vision.
The Foundation set up a team of experts, from industry and academia, to develop the EFQM Excellence Model, a holistic framework than can be applied to any organization, regardless of size or sector. This was first used to support the assessment of organizations in the European Quality Award in 1992.
General Director of the TRA, Mr. Mohamed Bubashait had this to say: “This is a proud moment for the TRA. We are the first organization in the Kingdom of Bahrain to be officially recognized by the EFQM for Commitment To Excellence. This achievement stands as evidence to the irrefutable commitment the TRA has to its mission, and establishes us as an exemplar for others to follow.”
