In recognition of its commitment towards quality, performance and rapid development as one of the leading banks in the financial sector, Bank Sohar recently received “The Diamond Eye Award for Quality, Commitment & Excellence” from Otherways Management & Consulting Association at a glittering awards ceremony held in Germany.

The event took place at the Berlin InterContinental Hotel, in Germany. Bank Sohar was represented at the award ceremony by Ms. Munira Abdulnabi Macki, DGM Human Resource & Corporate Support, and Mr. Salim Khamis Al Maskeri, Senior AGM – Branches. The gala dinner was also attended by businessmen from various sectors and from more than 40 countries, together with the consular and Diplomatic Corps and other awarded companies by Otherways Management & Consulting Association.

The Bank has been leading by example and is heavily involved in the local community, providing extensive support to charitable causes and initiatives that contribute to the development of the Omani society. Bank Sohar is also one of the most stable and successful enterprises in the Sultanate and has, in a short span of time managed to successfully grow to become the fourth largest and one of the most profitable banks in the country. In fact, Bank Sohar has recently registered a net profit growth of 30.85% to RO7.96m in just the first quarter of 2014 as compared to 6.08 mn in Q1 2013. The operating profit increased by a significant margin of 24.5% to RO17.1m in Q1 2014 compared to RO13.7m in Q1 2013. Thanks to this solid foundation in the first quarter, Bank Sohar is well positioned for the remainder of 2014.

In addition to this its latest award, Bank Sohar and the CEO were also recently named ‘Best Financial Brand Oman 2014’ and ‘Best Banking CEO Oman 2014’ respectively by renowned UK based Global Brands Magazine. These awards, and the others achieved by the Bank in the recent past are a testament to the solid foundation that the Bank has been built upon and a reflection of the leadership style as well as its strong position as both, a financial institution and brand within the financial sector in the Sultanate.

The Diamond Eye Award for Quality Commitment & Excellence is presented to companies in recognition of their corporate achievements and to recognize their commitment towards quality, innovation, business prestige and excellence. For this purpose, a voting process is carried out by mail, internet or within awarded companies, based on several measures such as customer satisfaction, leadership, continuing education and trading, business results and certification levels such as ISO 9001 – 14001 – 22000, TQM and TQCS (Top Quality Customer Satisfaction Standards). In addition to the voting process, the association gathers information through consultation of the media, consultancy companies, advertising agencies, trade fairs and exhibits, official authorities and online polls to make the final decision to select the annual awardees.
