In recognition of the significant achievements that his leadership and vision has brought to the Bank, Dr. Mohamed Abdulaziz Kalmoor was recently named the ‘Best Banking CEO Oman 2014’ by renowned UK based Global Brands Magazine.
Commenting on winning the ‘Best Banking CEO Oman 2014’ award, Dr. Mohamed Abdulaziz Kalmoor said, “I’m honoured to have received this prestigious recognition from Global Brands Magazine. The judging criteria for the ‘Best Banking CEO Oman 2014’ award presented to Dr. Mohamed Abdulaziz Kalmoor was based on five primary categories – Corporate Governance, Strategic Leadership, Talent Management, Corporate Social Responsibility, and overall Performance. The award recognize his achievements in leading Bank Sohar towards its ultimate goal of becoming the top financial services provider in the Sultanate.
Holding a PhD in Economics from University of Colorado, USA, Dr. Mohamed Abdulaziz Kalmoor previously served as the Deputy Chairman of Bank Sohar’s Board Committee. Since assuming the CEO position, Bank Sohar has attained countless achievements in a wide spectrum of activities that it is involved in coupled with major financial achievements. Dr. Mohamed Abdulaziz Kalmoor has been instrumental in the development and growth of Bank Sohar from the initial stages, and has actively supported and nurtured the regulations and positive working culture within the bank. He has extensive experience working within the financial sector, which has helped the Bank emerge as one of the fastest growing banks in the Sultanate.
This award was one of two presented to Bank Sohar by Global Brands Magazine. Recently, the Bank was also recognized as the ‘Best Financial Brand Oman 2014’ in acknowledgement of its growth, its strong position within Oman’s financial sector and its impressive financial results in 2013.
