Bank Sohar conducted the prestigious Al Mumayaz Monthly draws for month of July with total value of prizes OR50,000 on August 13, 2014 at Hilton Hotel Salalah during a social gathering of Bank’s loyal VIP customers. This event was organized in parallel with the unique Khareef festival season of the region.
From the Bank’s side, a strong representation for the event including the Board member Mr. Omar Ahmed Abdullah Al Shaikh and other senior management members namely Mr. R. Narasimhan, DGM and Head of Retail Banking, Mr. Salim Khamis Al Maskari, Senior AGM of Branches, Mr. Khamis Masoud Al Rahbi, AGM of Branches and Mr. Mazin Mahmood Al Raisi, AGM and Head of Marketing and Publicity.
The event commenced with a speech delivered by Mr. Amour Al Amri, Bank Sohar Salalah Branch Manager who highlighted Bank’s positive achievements since inception as well as the business progress in the first half of the year including launch of new products and services.
Welcoming the guests, Mr. R. Narasimhan addressed the gathering and thanked them for their continuous support which had helped the bank to achieve many accomplishments. Further, he mentioned that Bank Sohar had received many awards in the past seven months in several aspects of Banking from reputed local and foreign institutions. For the first time, Bank Sohar received three awards for Retail Banking including Customer service, Cash Management and Credit Card products from CPI Financials. He added that the full credit goes to the customers who are loyal and also appreciative of our superior services for which he immensely thanked them.

During the event Mr. Redha Al Lawatia, Head of Retail Liabilities and Planning, provided the attendees with an overview of the Al Mumayaz Savings Scheme 2014; touching upon the stellar success of the Savings Scheme over the first half of the year and the appreciation the Bank has received for the balanced scheme and increased frequency of prizes it has introduced this year. With the half-yearly grand draw completed last month, the Bank will continue with its five hourly prizes of OR1,000 every day from Sunday to Wednesday, weekly prize draws OR5,000 and monthly draws with a prize pool of OR50,000, for the remaining period of the year. These will culminate with the highly anticipated Year-End Grand Prize Draw with a prize pool of over half a Million Rials, with one lucky saver winning OR500,000, one exclusive winner receiving OR50,000 and one lucky minor receiving OR5,000.
During the client gathering, the monthly draws for OR50,000 was conducted which benefitted five minors with OR1,000 each and OR45,000 to one single winner. In order to increase the transparency and participation of the clients present, the minor draw was selected by a child who was present at the gathering and the bumper monthly draw winner was selected by our very valued customer of Salalah region, Mr. Mohsin Al Haddad.
The winners’ announcement of the Al Mumayaz Savings Scheme OR50,000 Monthly Draw results was declared instantly which saw the Bank’s Al Qurum Branch customer, Mr. Tariq Al Mamari win the monthly grand prize of OR45,000; while five lucky minors across the Bank’s branches namely Amna Al Mamari, Dana Al Louyahi, Shihab Al Jabri, B. S. Al Nasri and Elyas Al Jabri, won OR1,000 each.
