With a deep commitment towards helping improve the quality of life of those in need within our community, Bank Sohar has once again partneredwith Dar Al Atta’a. As part of its contribution, Bank Sohar will be providing some key household items andelectronic appliances for houses that are currently under construction by the charitable association for the underprivileged.
The support, in the form of a cheque donation was handed over by Ms. Munira Abdulnabi Macki, DGM Human Resources & Corporate Support at Bank Sohar at the Organisation’s premises to Ms. Maryam Al Zadjali, Chairperson of Dar Al Atta’a Organisation.
Commenting on the Bank’s contribution, Ms. Munira Abdulnabi Mackisaid, “As a local Bank, community development and wellbeing has always been a major pillar of our corporate social responsibility strategy. Lack of adequate housing continues to be a challenge for the underprivileged of our community and it’s the responsibility of every organizations and community to ensure contributions are made towards improving the livelihood of underprivileged members in the community.”
“It’s inspiring to witness the commitment of organisations such as Dar Al Atta’a and the results they’ve been able to achieve. We are pleased to be a part of this initiative – by participating in this project we are not only providing a basic need that every Omani family deserves, we are also building a solid foundation on which the community can secure a better future for themselves,” added Ms. Munira Macki.
Since its inception Bank Sohar has been associated with Dar al Atta’a initiatives by lending a hand with a number of projects including education for children and women’s empowerment, across the Sultanate.In this, it’s most recent contribution; Bank Sohar has provided funds for the purchase ofkey household items and Electronic appliances for homes that are currently under construction for the underprivileged. These homes are scheduled to be completed during the current year, following which they will be handed over to their new respective occupants.

Dar Al Atta’a is a non-profit volunteer- based charity that was formed in 2002 and was formally registered as a Charity organization in 2006 with the Ministry of Social Development.Dar Al Atta’a runs a number of programs and activities including Family Welfare, Education Care, Empowerment, Disaster Relief and other activities specific to Islamic values like Ramadan relief, Eid, and Zakat – among others.
In addition to Dar Al Atta, Bank Sohar has supported a broad range of organizations across the Sultanate in the current year, including Oman Road Safety Association, Association of Early Intervention for Children with Disabilities, Creative Centre for Rehabilitation, Oman Association for the Disabled and Al Noor Association for the Blind.
Bank Sohar’s CSR initiatives have become an integral part of its operational strategy and as a result, it has received several accolades for its CSR efforts over the years, both regionally and internationally. The Bank plans to continue in its steadfast quest of philanthropy with many more donations and charitable events lined up for the current year.
