As part of its bank-wide tour to promote the Al Mumayaz Savings Scheme 2014; Bank Sohar recently hosted its RO 5,000 Weekly Draw under the Al Mumayaz Savings Scheme at its Khaboura Branch. The Bank has already successfully conducted similar draws in several branches with the aim to cover all 25 branch locations over the course of the year. The weekly draw, which took place on May 29, saw Mr. Rashid Ahmed Al Zaabi from the Bank’s Shinas Branch win the RO 5,000.
The event was presided over by Mr. Ibrahim Ali Al Macki, one of Bank Sohar’s VIP customers. Bank Sohar’s customers alongside executive and senior management of the Bank were present at the event to witness the draw. Mr. Mazin Mahmood Al Raisi, AGM and Head of Marketing and Publicity and Mr. Abdul Jalil Al Ajmi, Khaboura Branch Manager welcomed the Chief Guest who conducted the weekly RO 5,000 draw to reveal the name of the lucky winner.
The event was inaugurated with an overview of the Al Mumayaz Savings Scheme 2014 by Mr. Redha Al Lawatia, Head of Retail liabilities. Mr. Ibrahim Ali Al Macki then conducted the draw to announce the winner of the RO 5,000 Weekly Draw.

For 2014, the Al Mumayaz Savings Scheme has been specifically tailored to meet different segments of the society with different capabilities of saving thereby ensuring that everyone gets a fair chance to win. Therefore and in addition to the Daily and Weekly Draws, the Bank also offers Monthly Draws of a prize pool of OMR 50,000 where one winner receives RO 45,000, while five minor account holders win OMR 1,000 each. To be eligible for the monthly draws, customers are required to maintain a minimum monthly average balance of RO 1,000 only. Furthermore, the draws for minor accounts require the customer to maintain a minimum monthly average balance of only RO 100.
