BASF to showcase some of its sustainable construction solutions at World ecoConstruct 2012

World ecoConstruct will take place from 22 – 25 April. It features the infrastructure ARABIA Summit – the largest gathering of public and private sector engineering and infrastructure professionals in the region, and is co-located with Cityscape Abu Dhabi, an event which introduces the local, regional and international projects to a global audience.

Says Harald Kroll, Managing Director of BASF FZE: “World ecoConstruct creates a platform that comprehensively examines how the various pieces fit together to make sustainability successful in this region. BASF is proud to be associated with this event.”

BASF speakers at FutureBuild include:

David Bowerman, Regional Business Segment Manager for BASF Construction Chemicals responsible for Middle East, West Asia, CIS and Africa, will discuss Using admixture technology to improve the sustainability of concrete. David joined BASF in 1999. With an honours degree in Civil Engineering and 28 years’ experience in the fields of readymix concrete, cement and construction chemicals, David brings considerable depth of insight to this topic.

Ash Raouf, Business Development Manager, will discuss Green Buildings and Sustainable Construction in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Ash has a B. Sc. in Civil Engineering, a M. Sc. In Strategic Project Management, as well as numerous other qualifications. He published his first paper on Green Buildings and Sustainable Construction in the 26th ARCOM (Association of Researchers in Construction Management) Conference held in Leeds UK in September 2010. He joined BASF in 2006.

Venkatesh R, Sales and Industry Manager for Performance Polymers, Middle East, will discuss the Energy Efficiency of Thermal Insulation, illustrating the advantages of using innovative products like Neopor, an expandable polystyrene enriched with graphite which reflects infrared radiation and exhibits exceptionally good thermal performance. Venkatesh has a B.Sc in Chemistry and a Masters in Sales and Marketing, with almost 20 years’ experience in the construction field in the Middle East region. He has been involved in major iconic and mega projects in the region.
