Region set to benefit from ‘Networked Lifestyle Devices’

United Arab Emirates: Thursday, September 19 - 2002 @ 13:49

Already a global industry leader in digital lifestyle devices for the display, storage, imaging, wireless, and broadband areas, BenQ is expected to introduce its “Digital Hub” solutions regionally within the next 12 months.

In a move to further develop BenQ’s core belief – “Enjoyment Matters” – the Digital Hub concept will enable home and office users to connect different digital lifestyle devices, previously used autonomously, to edit, store and share digital content.

The new products will eliminate the gap between individual devices, creating a three-dimensional network through which users will be able to utilize existing peripheral technology.

“The regional IT infrastructure has developed to such an extent that technology integration and creative applications across devices became inevitable. By making devices more technology rich, without added complications, we hope to increase customer satisfaction,” said Robert Dung, managing director, BenQ Middle East.

As the region’s most complete digital lifestyle device provider in the display, imaging storage, and wireless communications, BenQ’s product portfolio ranges from LCD monitor, projector, plasma, CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, scanners, digital cameras, LCD TV and to networking and communications products.

Digital Hub Product Portfolio
Digital Hub @ Home will become the Audio-Visual center at home, enabling users to transfer photos taken by digital camera to printer for print-out, while content recorded by digital camcorder can be stored in CD-ROM to be watched on DVD-ROM player.

At office, Digital Hub @ Office will be the info-entertainment center integrating digital devices across an entire business. Digital Hub @ Office will connect digital devices at office, such as printer, scanner and projector thus enabling greater user efficiency and increased productivity.

Dung concluded, “BenQ believes the ultimate goal of technology is to provide enjoyment for users, not for the sake of technology itself. Only when digital lifestyle devices are networked, can users enjoy the full benefits of leading technology.”
