BIBF announced that its strategic objective to promote Bahrain as a regional educational hub has been further bolstered by the recent inclusion of its higher education programmes under the umbrella of the regulator the Higher Education Council (HEC).
BIBF Director Ms Solveig Nicklos said that BIBF’s approach, in line with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030, was to ensure that the labour market requirement for a qualified and skilled workforce was met.
“This can only be realised by ensuring BIBF’s position as a leader in education. The inclusion of our undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes under the HEC comes at an opportune time as we expand our regional reach and partner with world-class institutions to deliver their qualifications locally,” she explained.
In his statement, Secretary General of the Higher Education Council Prof. Riyad Y Hamzah praised BIBF’s role in the training and development of the nation.
He pointed out that the inclusion of BIBF’s higher education programmes would help move the sector towards the HEC’s vision of promoting high quality higher education within the country and to become a hub for students from the Gulf region.
“BIBF has made significant progress in its 33 years of operation by providing the market with qualified professionals and honing the skills of those seeking to increase their level of education”, said BIBF’s Head of Academics and Quality Assurance Mr. Ahmed Al Rayes.
DePaul University’s (USA) MBA, M.S. in Human Resources Management, M.S. in Finance, M.S. in Islamic Finance and M.S. in Entrepreneurship are among BIBF’s postgraduate programmes now listed under the HEC. The undergraduate programmes include Bangor University (UK) validated diplomas in Accounting, Banking and Finance, and Islamic Finance.
