United Arab Emirates: Sunday, August 21 - 2011 @ 11:48

The programme included seven under development nationals from the Borouge Innovation Centre and is part of the competence development strategy for the Centre, which requires continuous and sustainable build-up of skills for a multi-cultural team with a core of UAE Nationals.

In line with the policy of the UAE Nationals Development Department of Borouge’s Human Capabilities Function, the seven national employees have completed their training successfully at Borealis Innovation Headquarters in Linz, Austria. It was an interesting learning experience for the trainees through which they acquired new skills, business ethics and knowledge and other significant approaches which helped them realize the importance of innovation and scientific analysis.

During the first week of the programme, the trainees have been introduced to the different sections of Borealis Innovation Headquarters. The next week, they were distributed each to a section that matches his technical specialty at Borouge Innovation Centre. They all attended lectures and shared various practical applications that helped enhance their technical knowledge and experience. The programme concluded with recommendations of the trainees’ future needs as they presented Borouge with a report illustrating the benefits they acquired during the programme.

Haitham Al Marzooqi, Manager of the UAE Nationals Development Department, highlighted the success of the under-development employees’ training programme in Austria and added: “In order to make our UAE nationals become an added value to the business, we should start with right foundation which is a development programme that enhances their knowledge in work and life. The national trainees have gained the learning and showed responsibility and commitment.”

“It was a very valuable programme at Borealis Innovation Headquarters, where we learned many useful techniques and skills that will help us improve our work and performance and enhance our efforts at Borouge Innovation Centre,” said Fatima Al Dhanhani, a UAE national employee at Borouge and one of the seven-member under-development national team who completed the training course.

She added that her team has learned many things about European culture and society in Austria. At the same time, they introduced the people in Linz to the Arabic culture of the UAE. They acted as Borouge ambassadors to the world where they show their commitment, discipline and dedication to learning and work.

“We appreciate our company’s support and encouragement to help us learn and have this necessary training and useful European technical knowledge from Borealis to contribute effectively to the development of Borouge’s Innovation Centre once it became operational soon,” said Mohamed Al Hassani, another Borouge trainee who was involved in the training programme.

The seven UAE national trainees expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the way the training programme was implemented and coordinated by both Borealis Innovation Headquarters in Linz, the UAE Nationals Development Department and Borouge’s Innovation Centre in Abu Dhabi.
