: Monday, September 01 - 2014 @ 15:41

F5 Networks has appointed Saudi National Mamduh Allam as Country Manager for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Allam’s appointment comes as the global leader in Application Delivery Networking expands its visibility in the Kingdom’s burgeoning IT sector– the largest in the Middle East. Analyst IDC recently predicted that the country’s overall IT spending will increase 10.7% year on year in 2014 to $11.50bn.

Reporting directly to Diego Arrabal, F5’s Vice President of Sales for Southern Europe and the Middle East, Allam will lead a team focused on helping organizations optimize the delivery, security, performance and availability of network-based applications across on-premise, cloud and hybrid environments. He’ll also work with customers to highlight the benefits of the F5 Synthesis framework—combining high performance services fabric with intelligent services orchestration and simplified business models.

“Mamduh is a fantastic addition to F5, and will be instrumental in driving overall growth, as well as strengthening our partner relationships across the Kingdom. Saudi Arabia is a key strategic market for us globally, and his experience and insight will prove a major asset moving forward,” said Arrabal.

Allam has significant international industry experience, and joins F5 from Intigral – a joint venture between Saudi Telecom Company and Malaysian media conglomerate All Asia Networks – where he was General Manager.

Prior to Intigral, Allam was Communication Sector Director at Microsoft in Riyadh, where his achievements included helping to close one of the largest private sector cloud project deals in the Middle East and Africa Region.

He has also worked as Senior Business Development Manager at Cisco where, among other things, he was instrumental in launching the company’s Smart & Connected Communities business in the Kingdom.

In addition, Allam has held several leadership positions at technology companies in the USA. Allam has a bachelor degree in Mechanical, CAD design, and programming engineering from Eastern Michigan University, USA.

“I am delighted to join F5 at such an exciting moment in time,” said Allam. “Saudi Arabia is looking to the future and pursuing massive, tech-driven development, and F5 has the solutions that can make it happen, enabling businesses to scale and prosper through transforming application delivery, reliability and security in the data center, the network and the cloud. F5 has a growing reputation in Saudi Arabia, and I look forward to leading an already highly successful team to the next level.”
