The pile-foundation and super-structure works contract were awarded to United Engineering Constructions (UNEC) and Al – Liwan / Intermass J.V the projects are scheduled for completion by December 2007.
The Falak Towers project in DSC is the group’s first foray into real estate development. The first phase of new developments comprising 7 mid-rise towers inside the community of Dubai Sports City are designed in sports themes representing the sports of golf, tennis, cricket, baseball, ice hockey and two golf hub towers. Each tower comprises studio, 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom apartments with panoramic views of the golf course and waterfront. The towers won design acclamations at the Mipim exhibition in Cannes France last year.
The project is walking distance from a world-class 18-hole golf course, sports academies, swimming pools, spas, fitness centers and state-of-the-art stadiums. The project has been designed by QHC – Architects and Engineers and ITD Design (L.L.C) an innovative architectural design that offers a unique blend between the modern and natural. Every building is detailed to specific sport themes, making them distinct and yet harmonic to the overall concept of the project
Mr. A. R. Falaknaz, President Falak Properties and also one of the three partners in Dubai Sports City itself, speaking on the occasion of the contract signing ceremony, said, “We are committed to ensure that every building under the Falak banner conforms to stringent checks and measures put in place while negotiating the contracts that were bided for by 10 companies. United Engineering Constructions (UNEC) and Al – Liwan / Intermass J.V were short-listed and selected based on their uncompromising construction quality, structural integrity and their reputation in the industry.”
‘Comprehensive evaluation has been adopted to finalize the bid and ensure that the company complies with construction standards and timing promised to our customers. As one of the first residential projects in the Dubai Sports City we are committed to quality standards also stipulated by them and Dubailand,” added Mr. A.R Falaknaz.
The unique design of the buildings made it imperative for Falak Properties to select someone who would understand the ethos of the overall concept and build with the same passion and commitment that went into the design and concretization of the towers.
Speaking on behalf of United Engineering Constructions (UNEC) Mr. Abdul Halim Muwahid and Mr. Adib Ataya on behalf of Al – Liwan stated; “We are proud to be associated with such a prestigious project in the Dubai Sports City, and are certain that this would eventually be one of our portfolio projects. It is our mission to deliver the best to all our customers and we shall strive to meet delivery deadlines as agreed upon.”
The Falak towers are scheduled to be ready for occupation by the end of 2007. Part of an overall 3.9 billion square feet Dubailand project, Dubai Sports City will feature an 18-hole golf course, a cricket stadium and academy, rugby, football and track & field stadium, hockey stadium, indoor stadium, jogging/bicycle tracks, boulevards, restaurants, cafes, malls, cinemas, retail outlets, medical clinic, international schools and other services.
