Alghanim Sons Group (ASG) launch SHAC venture

Kuwait: Tuesday, May 22 - 2007 @ 10:54

Alghanim Sons Group (ASG), a powerful business force that works with international partners from various sectors, announced yesterday the launch of its latest venture with SHAC (Shanghai Huizhong Automotive Manufacturing Company) commercial vehicles, a division of China’s largest automotive company, at a dinner event which took place in their Shuwaikh showroom.

Ten SHAC models have achieved full GSO certification with more models currently undergoing the same. The trucks are in territory with a complete state-of-the-art infrastructure in place in Kuwait and shortly in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

Senior management at Alghanim Sons Group spent an entire year visiting over 30 commercial vehicle manufacturers in China before selecting SHAC. Mr. Adil Alghanim, Chairman of the Alghanim Sons Group commented, “It was important to establish the right business relationship with a manufacturer that set product and process quality at the top of their agenda. The automotive industry of China is on the move to become a major global player and we feel that SHAC is a product which has great potential. This marks the beginning of the first real marketing push on the Middle East by quality Chinese products with full parts and service back-up in place.”

SHAC uses state of the art technology and equipment in its production processes. Research and development is carried out in-house and the company has achieved ISO9001 Quality Certification and ISO 14001 Environmental Certification for its processes.

Through establishing a quality product that utilizes world renowned components such as Cummins engines and ZF gear boxes, SHAC was able to tap into the GCC market where a necessity existed for trucks that can operate reliably in harsh environments while remaining very user friendly, unlike many other major brands in the GCC, which contain overly complicated electronic systems.

Mr. Mark Llewellyn-Jones, Automotive Managing Director at Alghanim Sons Group commented, “Trucks today are technically more complex, difficult and more costly to maintain. One of the major benefits offered by SHAC is a ‘back to basics’ approach to truck operations which has quickly generated a great deal of interest and expectation.”

Through many thriving partnerships, Alghanim Sons Group has been on a continuous path of success, growth and prosperity regionally.
